I pulled all my Xstreet inventory and the [wear gray] skins are no longer available. (I may do a new batch of grayscale skins at some point, but I have approximately eleventybillion ideas and only so much time/focus/energy, so it could be a long while before I get back to them.) If you missed the [midori] skins that went *poof* after Hallowe’en, they’re back up in the shop for L$1 apiece. (If you grabbed them before, the only difference is I nixed the “clean 1″ skin and renamed “clean 2″ to simply “pure.”)

I’ve marked my favorite color of the [Faery] skins, verde (green), down to just L$1 for the remainder of November. Come December 1st, its price will go back up and the [calavera] skull skins will go *poof*. If you missed the 666th day party favors gift, they’re still available in the subscription archive box but they’ll go *poof* soon as I finish up the retail versions and set them out.

Lazy Sparrow: steampunk pixie

This week I’m pairing garments from silent sparrow with poses and new footwear from Lazy Places. (I skipped Thursday due to Thanksgiving and its associated madness and busywork, so… four-day week!)

Today I’m wearing bits of the sea Lysander set from silent sparrow (vest, belt, wings, pants) plus sapphire Aconite gloves with the black fae Ankou Boots from Lazy Places, with the long-sleeved white Isis shirt from Zaara beneath. Fae is a new boot style, a sort of hybrid of digigrade and human foot shapes, with a result that is decidedly Other. Like the rest of the Ankou Boots, these are stompy “take no guff” boots perfect for projecting an air of “do not mess with me!”—which is good if you’re a delectable pixie everyone would like to nom upon.

The skin is today’s Black Fifty Linden Friday item from 5th & Oxford, a preview of the forthcoming Brooke skin line in Medium tone with special “Winter Stars” makeup. The cap and goggles are part of the hair, Fly from Magika. The prim ears are from SLink, the “Metal Free” Outy-style ears in the Sachara Elf Ears line. The necklace is the silver Industrial Chain necklace from Shiny Things, to go with the gears on the Lysander belt buckle.

Today I’m wearing bits of the cocoa toxine suite (vest, gloves, bloomers, skirt) from silent sparrow and brown cloven Ankou Boots from Lazy Places with some separates from Sn@tch (Death Pixie Top, Skull Garter Tights).

The hair is from Tiny Bird—a past Fifty Linden Friday purchase but you can grab it in all the usual color packs at the shop—and comes with an alternate version with knit neck scarf attached. The skin is another of the new Plush skins (Blush, with freckles) from Sn@tch. The horns are the Cerwd Horns from Illusions—which like most of the accessories from Illusions, have multiple texture options accessible via drop-down menu on touch. The necklace is part of the Mahika “Meditation” set from EarthStones, which comes with matching earrings and also has alternate texturing options for the metal and wood accessible via drop-down menu on touch.

When I was perhaps nine or ten years old, my mother introduced me to Catwings, Ursula K. LeGuin’s tale of kitties born with wings. As I put today’s look together, I thought about what stuck with me all these years from those books: a yearning for a safe place to call home. Oubliette is one of the sims in which I feel at home, and its winter look makes a lovely backdrop for this black and violet outfit.

I’m wearing bits of raven suzume (gloves, overshirt, shorties), violet sylvan suite (bodice) and bruise Gutter Glitter (just the sleeves peek, really) with the stockings from the kohl Severina Suite. The neko ears and tail are from Atomic, wings are from Illusions, and feets are the black paws version of the Lola Boots from Lazy Places. I love the more delicate look of the Lola Boots as compared to many paw boots. My feet look so dainty!

I haven’t cornered husband’s av to do some updated pics to stuff in a locket, so I’ve been drawing upon what cute photos of friends are lurking in my inventory to fill them. I have a picture of Faery with the reading stump in one, and I have a teensy pic of hya in this one. <3

Lazy Sparrow: cerise deer

This week I’m pairing garments from silent sparrow with poses and new footwear from Lazy Places.

Since black is so prevalent in silent sparrow collections, I decided to take the more challenging task of dressing with white footwear first. I started with bits of the limited edition cerise version of Selador, layering the lust Gloomy corset and shrug beneath. I love the contrast of dark swirlies against the pale white skin—Sn@tch’s 69L Humpday item last week, chosen here for its pure white tone and soft body shading.

I went to Illusions to pick out some horns to wear with, then decided to go more doe than faun with the Deer Mask and Sika Antlers. The hair and necklace rose pieces are also from Illusions. All these pieces are texture-changeable via drop-down menu for a vast variety of looks. I could be a different color deer every day of the week! I do love the white, though. I had to resize the hair a bit larger to work with the mask, but I love how it turned out.
