wear gray for a day

Wear Gray For A Day is a brain cancer awareness campaign in SL, a bit like the Paint The Grid Purple event held for Relay For Life this past June. Several designers are donating sales from specially marked items to the campaign’s chosen charity, the American Cancer Society; for more information, see the campaign blog.

When putting my look for this day together, I could tear my hair out at how gray from one designer won’t match gray from another due to cooler or warmer tones to their grays—as annoying as trying to match blacks, since many designers do a warm or cool black, not a true neutral black. After some teleport hopscotch around the grid trying to figure out a coordinated look, I ultimately wound up at Decoy, where I got three items that thankfully match because Annette is awesome like that with color palette consistency.

Yesterday, I blogged the gray-toned Starlight skins I put together with this day in mind. You can grab them free at The Hidey Spot [link removed] for the foreseeable future; I made them for sharing, so they’ll be there to grab for as long as I can be bothered to keep the vendor rezzed. <3
